Five Business Podcasts for Your Daily Commute

Living in Miami, long car rides are a part of almost everyone’s daily commute – I’m no exception. With all that time spent in a car, I’ve recently decided to optimize my rides by tuning into some insightful podcasts. I began my search for podcasts that primarily focus on business, marketing, and entrepreneurship. After lots of researching and listening, I’ve narrowed down my list to a handful of go-to podcasts, these are what they are:

Fizzle Show

Description: The Fizzle Show is a podcast for creative entrepreneurs and honest business builders who want to earn a living doing something they care about.

My take: This is easily one of my favorite podcasts to listen to. They provide a solid mix of actionable business advice with a dash of quirky humor. The podcasts consists of four hosts, all of which bring a different expertise to the table. Highly recommended.

UnPodcast

Description: Experts are constantly telling us what we need to be doing to improve our businesses. Hundreds of books/shows in the market are filled with advice. But how can you filter out all of the bad advice, misinformation, and misuse of business tools that is out there? None of us needs another list of what we should be doing. “TheUnPodcast” tells you what not to do first, so we can discuss what you really need to do to succeed in the new world of business marketing. Easy to digest, easy to avoid. Includes real-life examples along with tips and guidance on experts, human resources, marketing/branding, networking (in person and online), public relations, and customer service.

My take: I came across this husband and wife duo via social media from their insightful and hilarious posts. I enjoyed their content enough that I purchased one of their books, UnSelling. Needless to say, I’m not a heavy reader but I loved their book. Their podcast offers just as much value and is definitely one of the more entertaining ones in the market.

The #AskGaryVee Show

Description: Welcome to The #AskGaryVee show, where I answer your questions about marketing, social media, and entrepreneurship. Want to get on the show? Tweet me your question with #AskGaryVee! Find me on Twitter and Instagram at @GaryVee!

My take: Gary Vaynerchuk just knows his sh*t. Some may find him a little arrogant but he truly backs up what he says and is a no-nonsense kinda guy. He’s invested in platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Product Hunt and now runs a large social-digital firm, Varyner Media. If you want to know what’s happening (and what’s going to happen) in the social media industry, Gary is your guy.

The Startup Chat

Description: Unfiltered insights and actionable advice straight from the trenches of startup and business life.

My take: Steli Efti and Hiten Shah have a robust background in the startup world and speak directly from experience. On one hand, Steli is founder of Close.io in Silicon Valley, while Hiten was co-founder of KISSmetrics and Crazy Egg. Both offer some truly valuable advise, especially if you’re looking to launch your own startup or want to know more about securing VC investments.
